"Great product, very easy to use, however don't expect any support, it's almost nonexistant. It's very difficult to contact support, and they are slow to respond, expect to wait 4 days for a response. However, after paying for the product, I would say that the support has got even worse! And the only help you'll get on the forums is very superficial, few seem to have made many changes to the code, and fewer will help without being paid for it. I opened a critcal support ticket, 5 days ago still no response."

"Bought this cart mid-last year for a client's website. Its very similar to BigCommerce (same developers) so thought we'd save by DIY management. BIG MISTAKE - software is so buggy and support is not helpful. And, the cart has been on version 6 for almost 2 years! No updates in a constantly updating Internet is not a good thing. Meanwhile, BigCommerce is getting updated all the time, so it is heaps more advanced than Shopping Cart. Really disappointed with my purchase -- wish I had gone with a different product (and found this site sooner!) Hope this helps someone else."

"DO NOT BUY this software. You will regret it, not only is it just average shopping cart software. The support is the worst I have ever seen from a software company. If you ever want to change your domain name costs $500. If you ever want to ask a question costs $500 dollars. And you have to pay another $500 if you want to ask another question in 12 months. Buying this software was a horrible decision for my business and our clients. ~ Web Design Firm"

"We've been using this system for about 18 months. Seemed good at first, but now having so many problems. Support is a joke -- I've sent 4 tickets over 5 days, all critical and none have been acknowledged. Even sent a note to the Sales team. Don't buy this product if you want any reporting or support."

"Looks nice and *seems* to work well, but there are bugs everywhere and it's becoming outdated. Support is almost nonexistent and it appears they've left this shopping cart to die. No updates whatsoever, yet they are still actively selling this cart for up to $2000 a pop. Don't be a sucker and fall for it!"

"Anyone considering the purchase of this software should consider that the costs of implementation and ongoing administration can easily increase the product cost by many multiples of the license fee. We have spent thousands of dollars in addition to the license fee to fix buggy code, operational issues designed without any regard to best practice or logical thought and incomplete features which sound good in the marketing material but are useless in real life. Interspire support is the worst support I have ever experienced from any company I have ever done business with. If you are lucky enough to receive a response to a support ticket, chances are the response will have one or more of the following elements in it: 1. Incomplete answer which prompts multiple replies, each of which can take a a week or more. A simple support request can easily take weeks to resolve, if you are lucky enough that they care to actually help you 2. Support personnel do not seem to care about you as a customer. They will do very little to help you resolve your issue and do not understand that people's livelihoods depend on the successful operation of the cart. 3. Dismissive and accusatory replies. You must have done something wrong, your developer did this, it must be an issue with your server. Trust me, it is never an issue they will ever admit to having caused. Once you are this far in you will realize that you really need to find a third party developer to help you because you are liable to go out of business waiting for Interspire to do the right thing. This leads to the next issue. There are almost no developers who know Interspire. Unfortunately, you are on your own. What is the value of the open source cart is nobody know how to work on it? I could go on and on, but I have to deal with some cart issues. Do yourself a favor, research another vendor, find out if they care about their customers and if they stand behind their products. Don't pay attention to"

"I really love the programs - for people that don't know CMS and website coding like me, they are easy. I have purchased three shopping carts and one newsletter. I have spent well over $4000 U.S as a few years back they were priced higher. But you would think that I had learnt my lesson from the first purchase. The support lets them down A LOT. I only re-purchased their carts as I know how to use them and I needed to get them up and going. I've had problems but ended up paying someone else to fix. Their products would be fantastic if they lent a bit more towards the support of their clients. That's their weak link. Once you buy their products they dump you. It's a shame as they could be so much better! "

"Soooooooo much potential. It's great but no support, no updates coming. My guess is Interspire will dump this as they are clearly focusing on big commerce and hanging shopping cart customers out to dry. Go elsewhere if you want to stay competitive. "

"Interspire Shopping Cart V6 is has so many bugs it makes working with the product very stressful. To make things worse the tech support guys are very dismissive and seem to have a script which reads something like ‘......we are aware of the problem and it will be fixed in the next upgrade’. For nearly $2000 i was expecting a lot more! "

"Interspire Shopping Cart is very good at what it does, but be very aware that some of the advanced features (customer group discounts, admin orders) can be buggy, and pricing issues may pass by unnoticed as they can be intermittent. Also don't expect the code to be easy to work with if you wish to use ISC as a basis to build from. Although there coding standard has improved, it is often confusing, not well thought though and poorly implemented. This mean customisations can take a significant amount of time and leave you in a situation where fixing existing bugs in ISC take up more time than making changes."

"Not the easiest to install or customize, agents upsell to paid installation. Online support is outdated and incomplete, no real telephone support but referral to opening a ticket online, where TS agents provide incomplete and confusing information in 24-48 hours. I've been in eCommerce for 2 years and yet changing to this platform has taken over a week to go live due to missing and conflicting information. NOT plug and play. Once installed it is feature packed and easy to manage, but still lacking in the customization and support departments."

"Yes, this cart is somewhat easy to use and the web graphics looks great. But, I trying to upload product descriptions using a simple HTML paragraph break which sometimes isn't recognized and sometimes only comes across as an HTML line break. I have been waiting for an answer from 'support' for 4 days now. My ticket is still open. I was having trouble setting up countries to ship to. The results were the exact opposite of my settings. Support added a fix to get this to work. I've heard about this cart being buggy, and it sure is. I wonder if this is why their hosted edition has been mentioned but never offered. Personally, I'd stay away from this software until the reports on the bugs die down or the hosted is offered so you can get the hell out before spending some serious money."

"I used this for my downloadable products and services. There is zero learning curve--this was great. It also integrates with their e-mail software for promoting to previous buyers. Lot's of templates, no programing, easy to update. I HIGHLY recommend it!!"

Ecommerce Spot Comments An excellent product with an amazing template system, and some great AJAX features. Cheaper versions are available which have some limitations, including the maximum number of products. It also has a great feature to automatically migrate from osCommerce, ZenCart and CubeCart.
